The Wall Street Journal reports that China has stationed two corvettes at the Ream Naval Base in Cambodia. The corvettes have been stationed at, and operating from, the Cambodian base since December 2023.
Reports during previous years indicated development of the Chinese base despite denials by both China and Cambodia. By now, the Chinese navy has a separate area at the Ream base for its own operations, apart from the Cambodian area.
