Syrian Kurds conducted attacks of their own against the Assad regime‘s and Iran‘s forces, following the Assad-Iran attacks on the Syrian Kurd positions east of Euphrates that had started on 6 August 2024.
On 10 August, the Assad regime’s foreign ministry accused the Syrian Kurd forces of launching “criminal attacks” in Deir Ez Zor, Hasakah, and Qamishli areas. On 12 August, the Syrian Kurd authorities announced that their forces had conducted successful raids against the Assad regime forces’ positions in “the villages of al-Kishmah, al-Boleel and Tob” on the western bank of Euphrates.
