Russian disinformation and propaganda network uncovered by the US is reported to have among its objectives “amplifying U.S. domestic divisions in order to weaken U.S. opposition to core Government of Russia interests.” and using “emotionally charged issues in attempts to exploit social tensions and sow division, exacerbating friction in what is already likely to be a contentious election and increasing the likelihood of protests, riots and targeted violence.”
