Hezbollah‘s gadget problems continued on 18 September, after thousands of pagers used for internal communication by members of this Iranian military and political asset blew up on 17 September, injuring or killing their users.
This time, it was the Hezbollah operatives’ walkie-talkies that exploded, killing 20 and wounding about 450.
It remained unclear whether these attacks were to be followed by an Israeli ground offensive against Hezbollah. Without such an operation, the effect of the attacks on the Hezbollah capabilities, while serious, is set to be only temporary.
