Russia signs a deal with its three proxy regimes in West Africa – the ones in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger – by which it will deploy its “telecommunications and remote-sensing satellites” over the three countries. The satellites are going to monitor the three countries border areas and support the three regimes’ anti-insurgency operations among other tasks.
