MENA Theater Update, 28 Oct. 2024

On 26 October 2024, Israel conducted series of airstrikes against Iran, employing dozens of jets in three waves.

The first wave reportedly hit Iran’s air defense system, opening the way for the next two waves attacking weapons production sites as well as missile and drone bases.

The targets hit by the Israeli air force included “facilities used to mix solid fuel” for long-range ballistic missiles which are hard to replace, as well as missile factories. The targeted sites are located near Tehran and in western Iran.

The strikes are reported to have “significantly hampered Iran’s ability to mass produce missiles,” and “made it more difficult for any future Iranian missile attack to pierce Israel’s missile defenses.”
