France’s naval ship passed through the Taiwan Strait on 28-29 October 2024. The ship passed in the northerly direction while on its way from the Philippines to Japan.
US and several other democratic states conduct passages of their naval ships through the Taiwan Strait in order to resist China’s claims of jurisdiction over its waters and deter China’s future attempted invasion of Taiwan.
