On 13 November 2024, the US opened a new air and missile defense base in Poland.
The base is located in the north of the country, in Redzikowo near the Baltic coast. Its capabilities include interception of short and intermediate-range ballistic missiles.
The opening of the base is another link in the chain of steps NATO member states are taking to prepare themselves for a possible future war with Russia.
