On 13-14 November 2024, Israeli forces started to push deeper into the areas in Lebanon controlled by the Iranian asset Hezbollah.
The Israeli advance was taking place in the southwestern section of the frontline, cutting in the general direction of the seaside town of Mazraat Byout from the southeastern side.
The Israeli advance is the deepest one into Lebanon during the current war. Previously Israeli forces had been taking control over a relatively narrow zone along the international border.
