The United States hit Iran’s petroleum export with new sanctions imposed on 24 February 2025. The sanctions targeted “more than 30 entities, individuals and vessels.”
US Treasury Department stressed while announcing the new sanctions that “the United States will use all our available tools to target all aspects of Iran’s oil supply chain,” with the ultimate aim of reducing Iran’s oil exports to “zero.”
