Russian sources reported continued military support of the regime in Sudan by Russia and Iran. Reportedly, cargo aircraft from the two latter powers arrived in Port Sudan, bringing aircraft spare parts from Russia and Mohajer-6 attack drones from Iran.
Russia has been seeking to gain access to the naval station at Port Sudan for its warships, offering military supplies to the Sudan’s military regime in return. In February 2025, the Sudanese foreign minister said that agreement in this regard had been reached.
Iran was previously reported to be seeking military access to Sudan’s Red Sea coast as well. It is unclear whether Iran has succeeded in this regard, or found some other gain in return for its military supplies to the Sudanese ruling regime.
