On 17 April 2025, the US State Department confirmed that Chinese satellite company linked to China’s military, Chang Guang Satellite Technology, “is directly supporting Iran-backed Houthi terrorist attacks on US interests,” including American naval ships and other vessels in the Red Sea, by providing the Houthis with satellite imagery.
The State Department speaker added that “the assistance by the firm to the Houthis had continued even though the United States had engaged with Beijing on the issue.”
