The US President, Donald Trump, issued a declaration on 1 May 2025, designed to stop all sales of oil and petrochemical products by Iran.
Trump wrote that “any country or person who buys any amount of oil or petrochemicals from Iran will be subject to, immediately, secondary sanctions,” meaning that “they will not be allowed to do business with the United States of America in any way, shape, or form.”
The declaration by the US President continued American efforts to stop the Iranian nuclear weapons program, and deter Iran’s hostile geostrategic activities against the US and Israel.
