In the Russo-Ukrainian War, Russian forces achieved series of advances towards the city of Kostyantynivka.
While the Russian forward movement on the front remained relatively slow with each small advance bought with numerous Russian casualties, by mid-May 2025 it nevertheless resulted in Kostyantynivka facing Russian troops from the southwest, south, east, and northeast.
Kostyantynivka is located in the Donbas region, about 16 kilometers southeast of the main Ukrainian-controlled city in Donbas, Kramatorsk.
