Around 03:00 on 13 June 2025, Israel launched an operation aiming to restrict Iran’s development of weapons potentially representing critical danger for Israel’s survival, including Iran’s nuclear program and its efforts to build thousands of ballistic missiles to target Israel with.
Various components and assets of the Iranian nuclear program were hit by the Israeli air force on 13 June, along with the Iranian air defense systems and radars, missile facilities, and other military sites. Israel also eliminated a number of Iran’s top military commanders.
Later in the day, Iran launched ballistic missiles at Israel.
The air and missile war between Iran and Israel, which had been expected to happen for many years, started on 13 March, and was set to continued in the days ahead.
