On 26 July 2025, Britain and Australia signed the Geelong Treaty “to bolster cooperation over the next 50 years on the AUKUS nuclear submarine partnership.”
The treaty is set to “enable comprehensive cooperation on the design, build, operation, sustainment, and disposal” of the future submarines envisioned by the AUKUS cooperation format between the US, Britain and Australia.
