After relaunching occasional airstrikes against the Syrian Kurds in August 2025, Turkey continued to do so into September, hitting a Syrian Kurdish target in the town of Kobane on 3 September 2025.
The Turkish strikes, renewed after a pause of several months, appear to be intended as a push on the Syrian Kurds to surrender the territory under their control to the new government of Syria which is geopolitical aligned with Turkey.

On 28 August 2025, Israel conducted targeted strikes in Sanaa, Yemen, eliminating the Houthi rebel administration’s “prime-minster,” along with many of his colleagues.
The strike came in response to the Houthis’ continued attempts to hit Israel with missiles and drones.
