The United States is pressing the government of Lebanon “to completely disarm Hezbollah by the end of this year,” according to a report from 29 October 2025.
Reportedly, “the Trump administration has grown frustrated with what it considers slow progress and has been increasing the pressure on Lebanon to accelerate the process” of Hezbollah’s disarmament.
The Arab Gulf nations are also “pushing the Lebanese government to capitalize on Hezbollah’s weakness to complete the disarmament.”
Hezbollah is a military and political asset of Iran.
