The United States military and law enforcement forces seized an oil tanker in international waters near the coastline of Venezuela on 10 December 2025.
The US-sanctioned tanker “was loaded with oil from PDVSA, Venezuela’s state-owned oil company.”
It appeared possible that the US could seize more tankers carrying Venezuelan oil in the future, which would be a major hit for the Maduro regime that heavily depends on the funds from selling oil.
