MENA Theater Update, 26 Dec. 2025

Jerusalem Post reported on 25 December 2025 that “Turkey has been trying to deploy radars on Syrian soil in recent weeks.”

While formally Turkey would transfer the radar systems to the Syrian military, in fact “Turkish personnel would remain responsible for operating the systems, giving Ankara access to and control over the intelligence gathered.”

The Turkish move would “significantly restrict the Israel Air Force’s freedom of action in Syrian airspace.”

The STC had recently captured most of the Hadhramaut province as well as some other territory from the Saudi-backed government of Yemen.
