Syria‘s military attack against the enclave in the city of Aleppo held by the Syrian Kurds, launched on 7 January 2026, was concluded on 10 January with the Syrian government successfully taking over the area.
The Kurdish forces withdrew from the part of Aleppo city they had held throughout the Syrian Civil War, leaving for the territory in northeastern Syria that remains under the Kurdish control.
