The Washington Post reported on 10 December that Syrian rebels in the Idlib region had received “about 150 drones as well as other covert support from Ukrainian intelligence operatives” in November 2024, “weeks ahead” of the launch of the victorious rebel offensive against the Assad regime on 27 November.
The 150 drones in question were of the first-person-view (FPV) variety, and Ukraine also sent “about 20 drone operators.”
The victory of the rebels concluded on 8 December with the fall of the Assad regime marked a major geopolitical defeat of Russia and Iran, whose Geopolitical Facilitator the regime had been.
