On 9 October 2025, India and Australia agreed “to pursue collaboration in defence technology,” with India offering “to maintain and repair Royal Australian Navy ships in Indian shipyards during deployment in the Indian Ocean.” The two powers also agreed to increase military information sharing.
The deal extends “into defense industrial collaboration, such as ship repair, logistics coordination and joint technology projects.”
