Iran continued to target commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz in an effort to keep the strait closed, and unsuccessfully attacked two US Navy vessels. Among the vessels struck were an empty Emirati tanker hit by drones and a South Korean commercial ship.
The United States responded by sinking at least six Iranian small attack craft that were harassing shipping in the strait. US Central Command reported that its warships and aircraft also intercepted Iranian cruise missiles and drones targeting US vessels and commercial traffic.
Iran also attacked the UAE territory for the first time since the ceasefire. The UAE shot down Iranian missiles — reportedly with assistance from Israel‘s Iron Dome air defenses — but sustained a drone strike on its Fujairah Oil Industry Zone.
