On 6 October 2026, Reuters reported that satellite imagery taken on 30 September 2026 had shown eight K-8 light attack jets and more than two dozen support vehicles on the runway of China‘s new military facility in Laos at Ban Keun. Construction around the runway was still ongoing at the time.
