European Theater Update, 13 Oct. 2026

In September 2026, European governments attributed to Russia a series of sabotage attacks against firms and infrastructure supporting Ukraine. These included fires at a drone factory and a Starlink station in Poland and at a robotics manufacturer in Estonia. They also included a drone attack near Ukrainian cargo planes at Leipzig airport in Germany.

On 23 September 2026, European ministers warned that Russia was increasing sabotage, drone incursions, cyberattacks, and covert operations across Europe. They said the aim was to erode Western support for Ukraine.

On 7 October 2026, Denmark‘s PET security service stated that Russia had shifted from broad hybrid disruption attempts to direct sabotage operations. The operations targeted Danish defense companies supplying Ukraine. Similar operations targeted defense firms and infrastructure in other European states.
